Empowering Farmers, One Training at a Time – July 2023

The Seeds and Planting Material Division of Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Limited took a significant step towards enhancing farmers’ knowledge and productivity. We successfully conducted the first training session for our Hayleys Contact Farmer Group in Welimada on July 13th.

A group of 10 dedicated farmers participated in this enlightening session, where they were joined by representatives from Agro chemicals and fertilizers. Our mission to educate farmers on growing technology is essential to boost their productivity levels and support sustainable agriculture.

To create a strong training network, we carefully selected these Contact Farmers from major potato growing areas. These farmers will play a pivotal role in organizing future training sessions, focusing on addressing their day-to-day issues related to vegetable farming.

The inaugural batch of farmers has now completed their training, but our journey doesn’t end here. We are committed to their ongoing growth and improvement. To ensure their progress, we will evaluate their knowledge through an annual spot test, with valuable gifts awaiting the winners. This incentive will further fuel their enthusiasm for learning and development.

Looking ahead, our aim is to train a total of 750 farmers in their respective villages over the next year. By empowering these individuals with knowledge and skills, we believe in making a lasting impact on their lives and the agriculture sector as a whole.
