The Hayleys Agriculture Training School (HATS) was pleased to facilitate an educational volunteer placement for Global Footprints Scholar, Selina Gau, from Australia.
During her visit from 6th–10th April, Selina received first-hand exposure to tissue culture plant production processes at the Hayleys Agro Biotech (Pvt) Ltd Laboratory in Nanu Oya, gaining valuable insights into innovative horticultural practices that contribute to sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience.
A passionate advocate for environmentally conscious horticulture, Selina believes that horticultural knowledge can play a vital role in addressing some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. Her commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and biodiversity conservation aligns closely with our vision of fostering resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.
Through initiatives such as HATS, we remain committed to creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and international collaboration, empowering the next generation of agricultural professionals to drive positive change within the industry.
We thank Selina for her enthusiasm and wish her every success as she continues her journey towards creating a greener and more sustainable future through horticulture.
