In a reaffirmation of his leadership and industry expertise, Mr. Sumith K. Herath, Chief Executive Officer of the Agri Equipment Division at Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Limited and Director of Agro Technica (Pvt) Ltd, has been reappointed as President of the Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers and Suppliers Association of Sri Lanka (AgMMA) for the second consecutive year. This announcement was made at the 22nd Annual General Meeting of AgMMA, held on 18th December 2025, reflecting the trust and confidence placed in Mr. Sumith by the association’s members.
AgMMA is the premier industry association in Sri Lanka representing agricultural machinery manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers. With a legacy of over 40 years, the association plays a pivotal role in advancing agricultural mechanization by facilitating knowledge sharing, machinery design, sourcing, and manufacturing support. It also serves as a collaborative platform for stakeholders to address common challenges and promote sustainable mechanization practices that align with the country’s national food security goals.
The AgMMA Executive Committee for 2026 was also announced at the AGM, comprising experienced leaders from across the agricultural machinery sector:
